Because of the imporntace of this decision, ther are requirements for baptism in the Catholic church:
For parents:
There must be a well-founded hope that your child will be raised Cathotolic, that means attending Mass regularly, instructin him/her in the Catholic Faith and supporting him/her in receiving the other sacraments of initiation, like First Reconcilation, First Communion and Confirmation.
Both, father and mother should be in agreement that they choose Catholic Christian baptism for their son or daughter. The child has to have no more the 7 years old.
For godparents:
Godparents must be at least 16 years old and Confirmed in the Catholic Church. If they are married, they must be merried in the Catholic Church. They should be Catholic in good standing and be a good example of role model in their Catholic Faith for the child.
For parents and godparents:
Parents and godparents must be taking a pre-baptism class to be able to understand the Sacrament of baptism more deeply, and before they baptize their child they need to feel it up the right form and bring the documentes (birth certificate) that are required and set up the day of baptism. Call to the office hours for more information.
Suggested donation is $100.00 per child.
The child should wear a white garment for the celebration of baptism and bring your own candle for your child.
